Upon its release, the iPad Mini gained a lot of attraction. But then, is it worth selling iPad 1, 2 or 3 for it? Also, remember that Apple is new to the market of smaller tablet computers. It will be facing a lot of competitors like the currently reigning and lower priced Amazon Kindle Fire.

Pre-ordering for the iPad Mini was open on October 26. Everyone got excited and began calling it the best small tablet computer yet. Then again, is the hype really for the quality of the Apple device or is it for the brand name?

Another reason the hype for the iPad Mini is a bit weird is because for such a small tablet computer, its starting price is $329. This makes it much more expensive than any other current tablet in the market. Moreover, despite the fact that its screen is larger than any of those of non-Apple tablets, the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire still have advantages of their own.

Let us talk about the Kindle Fire. This tablet computer from Amazon was designed really well. It was made with the customers in mind. It is not only affordable but also it has cool features. So, cool features + low price = one awesome device. What makes the Kindle Fire better than the iPad Mini?

The Apple tablet computer has 12 models to choose from. The thing is, the only difference between those models is the Internet connectivity, memory storage and color. The Amazon Kindle Fire has its own models too and they depend on what the customers want. First off, there is the Kindle Fire HD with Wi-Fi only. For those who want a cheaper tablet, there is only the Kindle Fire. There is also the larger Kindle Fire HD which is 8.9 inches. LTE service is also available for the 8.9-inch model. These options give consumers a wider range to choose from.
